The second largest actives sand dune in the world, this area has 17 gas producing wells with pipelines and storage tanks scattered throughout the region. Big air jumps along with numerous razorbacks can be found here. Due to high elevation, several dunal ponds known as “flockets” can be seen throughout the area at the base of the dunes, which attract herds of elk along with some cattle, sheep and waterfowl. A historic 40-acre ranch is close by, which offers a glimpse of Wyoming’s ranching history.
