How To Lace Dirt Bike Wheels

warp 9 racing dirtbike mx wheels and rims

For the 2006 Honda CRF450R Bike Build we decided to go with a Warp 9 Racing wheel set. We set the bike up with white rims, over-sized black spokes, red anodized nipples and red anodized hubs. This video shows how we laced those rims.

This is a 32 hole 19 x 2.15 rim. All the spokes are exactly the same.

How to Lace Dirt Bike or Off-Road Motorcycle Wheels

Tips:

  • This is easier then you think. Once you get into it it starts to make sense.
  • It does take time, so don’t feel like you’re messing something up if you’re not done in 5 minutes.
  • Dip the threads of the spokes in oil before threading on the nipples to keep them from seizing up.

If you want a set of wheels like this or are looking to build a custom combo of your own check out Warp 9 Racing to see their rim color options. They also offer a variety of other parts and billet accessories for Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki and KTM bikes.
